I am a seasoned and versatile communications professional with a passion for sharing stories that enlighten, engage and entertain. Whether it’s a news story, feature article or news release, I strive to find the human thread in everything I produce.

I am an internationally published journalist, editor and communications consultant. I terminate errant apostrophes with extreme prejudice. I have a complicated relationship with the Oxford comma. Get in touch.

My byline has appeared in a variety of publications, including Maclean’s, The Globe and Mail, BCBusiness Magazine, The Georgia Straight, Women’s (BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre Foundation magazine), and Promise (St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation magazine), among many others.

My communications work includes media relations, internal communications, multimedia and online content. I have worked closely with the University of British Columbia, assisting a number of departments to reach their communications goals: producing news releases, videos and multimedia content for media relations; writing and editing internal communications; creating online content for external audiences; and providing a variety of proofreading services.

I was senior writer with BCBusiness Magazine from 2006 to 2008, and a staff writer with the Georgia Straight from 2006 to 2013. I studied journalism at Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I ate haggis and lived to tell the tale. (I have bagpipe PTSD.)

When not at my desk, you can find me playing the cello in various ensembles, shooting Polaroids, and attempting to parent my two young boys. I also knit. Get in touch.
